Bulletin - September 2024

Welcome to the September Bulletin from Hastings United FC

Team News

Mens First Team

Danny Bloor

Just a quick update from me we are 5 League games into the season now with 2 wins, a
draw and 2 defeats.
We opened up with wins against Horsham and Whitehawk then a draw against Bognor
before defeats against Potters Bar and Folkestone.
The only game we have been bitterly disappointed with was the defeat at Potters Bar we
were miles off it, the players were told that in no uncertain terms.
We actually felt despite losing on Bank Holiday Monday against one of the favourites to win
the League Folkestone our second half display was our best of the season so far and were
unfortunately not to get at least a draw.
It’s early days and lots of mistakes will be made but one thing for sure is everyone is pulling
in the right direction to get the very best for Hastings’s United Football Club.

I must say a massive THANK YOU to you the fans you have been unbelievable with your
support it’s the best I have ever encountered.
It makes such a difference to all the players, the management team and me the players
thanks again.

After a positive July, we took on a very good Saltdean side where we got defeated 6-1 after
going 1-0 up.
We then played Eastbourne Town midweek and played extremely well winning 12-0 and
having 10 different scorers in that game!
We then travelled to Tunbridge Wells against a Forester’s side who were more clinical on the
day in a 3-1 defeat.
The squad was ready to go for league action, having 27 players in the squad which is a
really pleasing site with the DS and First team with competition for places, which will allow
players to excel!
Our first league game we travelled to Gillingham to face Soccer Elite. We score all 3 goals in
the first half in a very professional and dominant display! Goals from Bate, Nicholson-Rogan
and Nye.
This weekend we played Montpellier Villa, in a game where we had over 12 shots on goal
and 8 corners, we just couldn’t find the back of the net and conceded 2 minutes before half
time.
Lots of positive signs just 2 games in, 3 points out of 6. We have a big game at home on the
1st against Welling United. Would be great to get as many of the U’s fans down to support
and watch, we appreciate your support.

Thank you

Hastings United Walking Football Team

Hastings United’s walking footballers are looking forward to the start of their season in
September.
The club is fielding three teams in the Southern Combination East League and will also be
entering the League and WFA cups.
We will have an Over 50s team (our Front side) and The Hornets (Second team) in the
league and our Over 60s team will compete in the seniors’ division.
The 060s won their division last season and will be defending their title and both the other
teams have been bolstered with some excellent new players. They might be new to walking
football but have all played our beautiful game to high standards in their youth.
Club Chairman Phil Aspinall commented: ‘ Our over 60s were unbeatable last season; our
first team finished mid table, and our Hornets came bottom but played with incredible
passion.
We have had some excellent new players sign for us close season and I’m confident of
another great showing this year.’
Any lads over 50 (or women over 40) can join the campaign for fitness fun and friendship.
We train on Saturday afternoons and Wednesday evenings. It costs a fiver a session and
your first session is free.

Anyone interested should email tonyharris750@hotmail.com for more info.
